DOBBINS
John and Fleming Dobbin moved to Henry County, Missouri (probably from Cooper) in the 1840s. They both presented accounts against Esau Prewitt's estate. John presented an account against Samuel Teeney in November 1847.
Henry Co. Probate November 1848 p. 336 Catharine Winters over age 14 chose John Dobyns her guardian. He made bond with Mark Finks and Fleming Dobyns security.
Sept. 4, 1855 Henry County, Missouri, Deed Book G:183 John Dobbins of Washington Co., Oregon Territory and Lucilla Ann Dobbins his wife and John Calvin Dobbins of the same place. appointed George Burnett attorney to sell any lands, houses, real estate and to receive of any business nature etc.

James Dobbins not among the 1810 intruder petition of those in the Sims Settlement who were removed and later returned. The land office at Huntsville opened on 2 February 1818. Most of the land was sold at $2.00 per acre.
James Dobbins entered the NW of Twp 2-0Range 6 west for 166.08 acres at $2.00 per acre. He made his first deposit on 1 March 1819 and finished payment 20 Sept. 1820. By Relinquishment No. 896. The next entry was not until 1891 in that quarter section! Did not recognize names of neighbors.
E of SE 35-10-15W James Dobbins paid by cash 14 December 1825 He received certificate no. 1977 and a patent dated 6 Feb. 1826. He paid $1.25 per acre for the 80 acres. He also bought the W of SW 36-10-15 on 20 Aug. 1825 and received cert. 1903 and patent dated 30 November 1825. He paid by cash.
James Dobbins did not sign the January 1817 petitioin so he had probably not settled on the land before it legally opened.
Only Thomas and John Dobbins on the 1820 state census that has survived.
